We mapped the grave acent symbol - ` (the key just above "tab" button in your keyboard) with the new Rupee symbol. Just select "Rupee" font from the drop down list of your fonts in your application and press the key just above your tab button. It will display our new rupee symbol. Try it.

1. Download the above attached font Rupee.ttf or the new version Rupee_Foradian.ttf
2. Install the font. (It is easy. Just copy the font and paste it in "Fonts" folder in control panel)

Limitations The "Rupee.ttf" font is necessary to view the currency symbol. So as long as the new symbol is not encoded in to unicode font by default, we cant use the symbol universally.

Some people reported that they are facing a problem to select font from the drop down list of MS Office and similar applications. This is because we haven't included glyphs for letters from A to Z. We are serious about copyright issues. Most of the fonts have complex copyright terms.
We have a solution and released the version 2.0 of the Rupee font. This one contains all the glyphs(letters) and is based on BitstreamVera

परिचर्चा : चिट्ठाकारी का सामाजिक दायित्व और प्रभाव जबलपुर. 

स्थानीय सिविक सेंटर में चिट्ठाकारी का सामाजिक दायित्व और प्रभाव विषय पर केन्द्रित एक जीवंत परिचर्चा का आयोजन श्री अनिल माधव सप्रे नव निर्वाचित अध्यक्ष बी.जे.पी. आई.टी.सेल. के मुख्यातिथ्य तथा दिव्य नर्मदा के संपादक श्री संजीव वर्मा 'सलिल' की अध्यक्षता में संपन्न हुआ. विशेष वक्ता थे श्री सचिन खरे प्रांतीय महामंत्री बी.जे.पी. आई.टी.सेल तथा वरिष्ठ चिट्ठाकार श्री विवेकरंजन श्रीवास्तव 'विनम्र'.

परिचर्चा के संयोजक श्री प्रशांत कर्मवीर ने अतिथियों एवं वक्ताओं का स्वागत करते हुए चिट्ठाकारी के आशय, उपयोग तथा भविष्य पर चर्चा को आवश्यक बताया. तकनीकी मार्गदर्शक श्री मन्वंतर ने गत आम चुनावों में भारतीय जनता पार्टी द्वारा चल भाष पर एस.एम्.एस. तथा बड़े नेताओं की वेब साइटों द्वारा आम आदमी से जुड़ने के प्रयास की सराहना करते हुए इसे एक शुभ आरम्भ मात्र निरूपित किया जिसका अनुकरण अन्य दलों द्वारा किया जाना है. 

श्री विवेक रंजन श्रीवास्तव ने चिट्ठाकारी की तकनीक से उपस्थितों का परिचय कराया तथा विद्युत् चोरी एवं अन्य सामाजिक बुराइयों के विरुद्ध संघर्ष में चिट्ठे को एक सशक्त औजार बताया. उन्होंने चिट्ठाकारिता को शौक नहीं आदत बनाने का संदेश दिया. 

श्री सचिन खरे ने चिट्ठाकारी के सामने उपस्थित चुनौतियों की चर्चा करते हुए बताया कि अभी न तो नेताओं न ही आम लोगों को इस तकनीक के असर का अंदाज़ न इस पर भरोसा है. उन्होंने बड़े नेताओं की वेब साइटें बनाने के अपने अनुभव को श्रोताओं से बाँटते हुए कहा कि जहाँ प्रारंभ में उन्हें यह फालतू का बखेड़ा लगता था वहीं अब उनमें से कई खुद अपने चिट्ठे देखते-लिखते हैं. चिट्ठाकारी के सामाजिक प्रभाव की चर्चा करते हुए वक्ता ने इसे भावी निर्णायक शक्ति बताया. 

मुख्य अतिथि की आसंदी से श्रोताओं व् प्रशिक्षुओं के संबोधित करते हुए श्री श्री अनिल माधव सप्रे ने चिट्ठाकारी से सम्बंधित सूक्ष्म तथा प्रामाणिक जानकारी देकर उपस्थितों को विस्मित कर दिया. उन्होंने चिट्ठाकारी के अच्छे पक्ष को जानने के साथ-साथ बुरे पक्ष से सजग रहने की अपरिहार्यता प्रतिपादित की. संगणक द्वारा किए जा रहे अपराधों की चर्चा करते हुए वक्ता ने चिट्ठाकारी करते समय जरूरी सावधानियों का उल्लेख किया. 

प्रथम सत्र के समापन के पूर्व अध्यक्षीय उद्बोधन में दिव्य नर्मदा के यशस्वी संपादक आचार्य संजीव वर्मा 'सलिल' ने चिट्ठाकारी के अतीत, वर्तमान तथा भविष्य के शब्द-चित्र उपस्थित करते हुए युवा पीढी के लिये इसकी उपादेयता पर प्रकाश डाला. वक्ता ने चिट्ठों को शिक्षा, अध्ययन, आजीविका, शोध, सामाजिक परिवर्तन, विश्व बन्धुत्व तथा सकल मानवता हेतु वरदान निरूपित करते हुए इसे अभिशाप बनानेवालों से सजग रहने का संदेश दिया. 

आयोजन का समापन श्री मन्वंतर द्वारा तकनीकी कार्यशाला में पूछे गए सवालों के समाधान से हुआ. आभार प्रदर्शन श्री कर्मवीर ने किया.

If you have been getting tempting messages with video links in your accounts in social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Bebo, Friendster and Hi5, beware. Any attempt to download the promised video will make you another victim of Koobface, a worm that could steal critical and personal information from your computer.

The government’s India Computer Emergency Response Team has warned that Koobface, a play on the name of social networking site Facebook, comes with an enticing tagline and spreads by spamming the contacts of the victim on networking sites.

With more than 3 million members of Facebook in India alone, Koobface’s potential for wreaking havoc on the country’s computer systems is immense — a fact that has prompted the government to issue the warning alert.

Typically, Koobface victims get a message from one of their contacts inviting them to click on a video link. The link leads you to a site mimicking the video-sharing site, Youtube. Once there, you are asked whether you want to download a software needed to watch the video.

If you click ‘yes’, the worm gets activated. It not only disrupts your internet experience by sending your searches on engines like Google elsewhere and returning garbled replies, it also steals data that may have been left in your computer’s memory. CYBER ATTACK

Koobface cure: Delete files added by worm

New Delhi: Typically, Koobface victims get a message from one of their contacts inviting them to click on a video link.

If you have already been Koobfaced the only way to protect your machine is to delete all files and registry keys that have been added by the worm. Internet users have also been advised by the government agency to

install and maintain updated antivirus software in their computers, as also a desktop firewall, and block ports which are not required.

While you may not be able to notice the worm rummaging through your electronic files searching for personal data, including passwords, the visible signs of the worm would show up on your internet browsing where you would get abnormal results to your searches and be misdirected to other sites.
